what is a computer
An electronic device for storing and processing data, typically in binary form, according to instructions given to it in a variable program.
I have a good definition of the computer : Computer = stupid + powerful. Stupid because it can do just the basic operations, like addition, sub, multiplication and so on... Powerful, if you have a CPU with 1 GHz, means it can do 1 milliard operations/second. Actually that is a theorical number.
lol i love how he uses the example stupid thats vert true
A computer is essentially device that performs a series of mathematical equations. The term 'computer' was a term originally job to people who would perform this task manually but later mathematicians such as Pascal and Leibniz built mechanical devices to automate calculations. These devices were very fixed in the sense that they could only perform certain operations. A few decades later and with the introduction of valve technology, computers became electrical but were still 'fixed' programs that were defined by wires. The 'stored program' computer - which saves both data and programs within the memory - was thought to be invented by John von Neumann.
seriously? you can just google that bro. xD
