Slove the linear equation 4- 5/9x > 7

OpenStudy (anonymous):

HELP!!! Please

OpenStudy (radar):

It was linear.

OpenStudy (radar):

* multiplying both sides by 9x (not dividing both sides by 9x)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Wow, you lost me in some parts but I understand it more if I keep reading it over. Thank you

OpenStudy (radar):

This is a inequality. first subtract 4 from both sides getting -5/9x >3 Now multiply both sides by 9x getting -5>27x now divide both sides by 27 getting -5/27 >x or x < -5/27 What is bothering me is the operation where we multiplied both sides by 9x because if x was a negative value we would be required to reverse the sense of the nonequality sign.
