To me, the song is about the prospect of a new relationship. It's about love and how it can be intimidating and ultimately devours those in it. "I'm looking for a place to start" = uncertainty. "Just grab a hold of my hand"= reassurance from a lover. "But sharks swimming in the sea"/"Ignore all those big warning signs"= the potential for heartbreak. The last stanza suggests that their love is overwhelming and devours them= "The light is blinding my eyes/As﻿ the soft walls eat us alive."lol
