simplify 12(c + 3d + 4f) + 2(2c + d + 6f) using distributive property

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

first distribute the 12 and the 2 over the 2 parentheses then add like terms

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can you write it out as a math problem please?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it would be 12c+36d+48f+4c+2d+12f, then combine like terms which would be 16c+38d+60f

OpenStudy (anonymous):

where did you get those numbers?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you distribute the 12 to everything in the parantheses next to it same with the 2 so you multiply for each one

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry but i dont get it :/

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so the 12 multiplies with the c and 3d and 4f

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so it will be 12c+36d+48f

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can i get a medal please? =)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks!
