do order of operations: assuming this is the problem: \(\large 13+ \frac{-9}{3}-4 \) then you'd carry out the division first then simplify the rest from left to right. if this is the problem: \(\large 13+ \frac{-9}{3-4} \) then you'd simplify the 3-4 then do the division with that result as the priority. then simplify the rest.
