Find the x- and y-intercepts . Please show all of your work. 5x-4y=-10

OpenStudy (ghazi):

just divide whole equation by -10

OpenStudy (anonymous):

to find x intercept put y=0 y intercept put x=0

OpenStudy (ghazi):

\[\frac{ x }{ a }+\frac{ y }{ b }=1\] where a and b are intercepts

OpenStudy (kainui):

@ghazi why is that true?

OpenStudy (ghazi):

it is the simplest form in which one can have intercept.....one just needs to put it in the form given above

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x-intr is where y=0 y-intr is where x=0 so put x=0 in the equation and solve for y to find the y-intr and later do the same thing for x- intr

thank you
