|x – 6| + 3 < 10?

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

first subtract both sides by 3 \[\implies |x - 6| < 7\] now evaluate x for \[x - 6 < 7\]and \[x -6>-7\] does that help?

thankyou very much for helping me

OpenStudy (anonymous):

could you help me pn this one

OpenStudy (anonymous):

|2x + 5| – 1 < 6

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

maybe if i do a demonstration first you'll get how to do it |5x + 3| - 4 < 2 first add 4 to both sides |5x + 3| < 6 now evaluate x for 5x + 3 < 6 AND 5x + 3 > -6 when 5x + 3 < 6 5x < 6 - 3 5x < 3 x < 3/5 when 5x + 3 > -6 5x > - 6 - 3 5x > -9 x > -9/5 so x < 3/5 and x> -9/5 so -9/5 < x < 3/5 got it now?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i get it a bit better

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

wonderful
