Question about MLA Citation for Sophocles's Theban Plays: For a paper I'm writing, I need to cite two of Sophocles's works, Antigone and Oedipus the King. I was wondering how I would cite them, considering that the resource I'm getting them from is a collection of Sophocles's Three Theban Plays (translated) Ex: Sophocles. Antigone. Trans. Robert owletles. New York: Penguin Group, 1984. Print. The title of the collection is "The Three Theban Plays". Should I be adding this and the page #s of the play? If so, where?

Msky, Below is a link to a Community College's Library. It provides an answer to your question by citing an example from Tennessee Williams. Since you are citing two plays, there should be two entries in the Works Cited page. Simply add the translator after the title of the collection. Best of luck on the paper! http://libguides.pstcc.edu/content.php?pid=24540&sid=1751573
