please answer with the solution.. thank you if the measure of an angle of a triangle is 10degrees less than the 1st angle and the 3rd angle is 10degrees less than twice the first, then the triangle is classified as what kind of triangle according to its angles?

here is a link for an example of what you are looking for http://www.algebra.com/algebra/homework/word/evaluation/Evaluation_Word_Problems.faq.question.13076.html

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lets call the measure of the first angle \(x\) then the measure of the second angle, being 10 degrees less, is \(x-10\) and the measure of the third angle, being 10 degrees less than twice the first, is \(2x-10\) since they add up to 180 you know \[x+x-10+2x-10=108\] and we can use this equality to solve for \(x\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

as usual first step is to combine like terms you get \(4x-20=180\) add 20 to both sides to get \(4x=200\) divide by 20 gives \(x=50\) so the three angles are \[50,40,90\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

as you can see, it is a right triangle, since the largest angle is 90 degrees
