Why can a subtraction problem be rewritten as an addition problem without changing the outcome? need help

hero (hero):

Here's a way to understand the difference between the two: You have 7 apples, and someone takes 7 apples away from you leaving you with none: 7 - 7 = 0 You have 7 apples, but you owe someone 7 seven apples, so 7 apples plus the 7 that you owe to someone else leaves you with the net amount of zero apples 7 + (-7) = 0
