I would try to figure out what trig function to use. look at 14 deg angle. You know the side= 14.3 (is it adjacent, opposite or the hypotenuse? for angle 14 deg) you want side x (is it adj, opp, or hyp) once you decide. that tells you what trig function to use

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can you show me the steps.

OpenStudy (phi):

this is helpful http://www.khanacademy.org/math/trigonometry/v/basic-trigonometry

I think the answer is 57.3. is this wrong or write.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i believe it is write

OpenStudy (anonymous):

right

OpenStudy (phi):

how did you get it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I divide 14.3/tan 14

OpenStudy (phi):

tan 14= 14.3/x or x= 14.3/tan(14) so that looks good. that gives x= 57.354... if you round to the nearest tenth , that is 57.4 (the number to the right of 3 is 5 or bigger, so round up)

thanks
