Hello Everyone, just curious, when does study begin, what format does it take, any courseware, task, etc. just want to know where and when to begin learning python, thanks. ah, just so you know, i am pretty new as well.
Did you get the OpenStudy email about the Mechanical MOOC thing? I believe I read that their group initiative was kicking off on the 15th of October. Some of us are here on our own taking the MIT 6.189 OCW course completely separate from the Mechanical MOOC thing though. You can find the course I'm taking here: http://ocw.mit.edu/courses/electrical-engineering-and-computer-science/6-189-a-gentle-introduction-to-programming-using-python-january-iap-2011/ It's the same course they'll be working through in October.
Thanks Roaming Blue, I have seen the courseware on MIT online portal, I will be joining you in this separate study. thanks so much. Cheers
You're welcome. And, welcome :D I'm working through the second homework set now, please feel free to post in here if you have any questions (or just want to celebrate solving a particularly difficult bit). Happy coding!
Yes, the course sequence will start Oct 15, using the OCW materials RoamingBLue points to above, this study group, and Python exercises on Codecademy.
