just multiply the CD price by the amount purchased to know how much is spent. From there you should know what to do.
$50 is your initial amount, meaning that it must be some equation that involves $50 minus some value. That value is determined on how many CDs they buy, which cost $15 a piece. Meaning the cost of the CDs are $15 times x amount of CDs. Meaning your expression is $50 - $15(x) :)
