Can someone help me with U.S Government... I am so confused, i think its either A or D. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration designed this label for the public to be released in 2012. The image best illustrates how government a. is committed to protecting citizen safety. b. controls how people run their businesses. c. limits advertising for dangerous products. d. influences the daily behavior of its people

I think the better choice is A.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Can you explain, because I am really confused.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You have ruled out B and C for your own reasons so I'm guessing I don't have to explain that one. I think it's A because they advertise a hotline to help you quit. That's the most sensible one to me. D, I don't think it influences the daily behavior of its people. Think about it... How does the advertisement influence the daily behavior? (Note the use of 'daily'.)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

b.c they smoke daily

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Also, this question is based on the image. have to take that into account.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i thought that because that it says daily behavior, they smoke daily, they want to influence them to get better, (with i thought tha tht wording for behavior didnt make sense but doesnt that make sense?) of some sort?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

But I don't really know. Like I said, it's just my opinion. I agree that the wording is a little funny.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and the safety has nothing to do with the health, right? or not?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That's what I noticed right after I gave the explanation. Now D seems to look like a sound choice.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

right, because a says that it is trying to protect its citizens safety, but its not like a killer or something.... right? haha i dont know... (just an example.)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I looked up safety in the dictionary. It says 'the condition of being protected from or unlikely to cause danger, risk, or injury'

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so do u still think its d or a? I still thought it was d

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm going with D though. Since safety is more about physical injuries and not health.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

indirectly it is... but you get me.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

right, im hope so. Thanks, ill go with d. Thanks for your help

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You're welcome, though I think I wasn't of much help. :P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No, i think you confirmed what i was originally thinking, which is a help... I just hope its right.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Me too.

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

The correct answer was a. is committed to protecting citizen safety.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its not d it just told me i was wrong on my quiz
