The agency I work with distributes fans to older adults in the summertime. This summer, temperatures have been at record highs. With recent negative attention regarding the use of electric fans at temperature over 95 degrees, is there literature available that will explain and educate older adult populations of varying degrees of literacy on the science behind fan use and when it's advisable to use one and when it's use could be dangerous?

http://www.epa.gov/aging/resources/climatechange/extremeheatevents.htm The EPA advises not using fans in enclosed rooms when temperatures are above 90F as it can quicken the evaporation of sweat and lead to rapid dehydration.
