Advantages and disadvantages to Sydney Carton trading places with Darnay in a Tale of Two Cities?

Yes, I've already read it. I have two advantages but can't think of one more or any disadvantages.

so what type of response or essay is this. like a 100-150 word response. a 5 paragraph essay or what?

2-4 pages. I have to write about a character who has to decide between to desires or obligations. I chose this character because he could stay alive or trade places with Darnay and die for him. I have to write about why he chose what he did and the consequences.

Ok so your going to be doing a lot of analyzing. I suggest your start with some sort of graphic organizer and then an outline. You want to start with a grabber that will capture the reader's attention. then start getting into the book itself. so your second sentence can be like about consequences, desires or obligations, or anything else you can think of that doesn't directlly talk about the book. then on the third you can tell the readers you are connecting this into the book by introducing Darnay or what not. Do not use "you" or "your" because i am guessing you do this from first point of view since it is your response. but yeah just avoid those words. And now to find your advantages just analyze and dig deep into the book, know what the characters are feeling when something happens. Ask your self questions like did darnay have trouble adjusting to life when he traded places? did the guy who trade places with darnay live a better life? so if someone wanted to trade places there must have been some problem going on there. so im guessing all those problems switched over to Darnay when the other guy left. idk if that is a disadvantage. If the disadvantages have to be after he died then look at who was impacted by it. Characters that were close to him, characters that hated him, did they leave the other guy alone after that (Which would be an advantage), was darnay needed and he couldn't be there to do something? so yeah i don't know if that is any help to get you writing.
