What would be the best microscope to view living single-celled organisms in a sample of pond water? Transmission electron microscope Scanning electron microscope Compound light microscope Dissecting microscope

OpenStudy (australopithecus):

Compound light microscope, you can prepare a hanging drop slide which allows you to observe live organisms electron microscopes always require dead specimens A Dissecting microscope uses light reflected off a sample rather than light transmitted through it like the compound light microscope. Its magnification potential is not as great as the transmitting light microscope so you would not be able to view the single celled organisms

OpenStudy (australopithecus):

Made a mistake by transmitting light microscope I mean compound light microscope

OpenStudy (australopithecus):

hope this helps

OpenStudy (australopithecus):

Fixed: A Dissecting microscope uses light reflected off a sample rather than light transmitted through it like the compound light microscope. Its magnification potential is not as great as the compound light microscope so you would not be able to view the single celled organisms
