What is the philosophical/true meaning of the song "Call Me, Maybe" by Carly Rae Jepsen? This is actually a serious question so if you could give me your feedback/commentary, I would greatly appreciate it. :)
I think the song is actually pointless yet catchy
I think it means she just randomly approached a guy she just met and gave him her number. So maybe its about girls who aren't afraid to be forward with guys idk........its hard for me to make sense of it..............but that's my thought After hearing it so much on the radio it becomes a little annoying.
^I agree with evergirl... The song is just about a girl giving a guy her number; telling him to call her, maybe. :) The video is kind of ironic though. In the end, the guy shows his attraction towards her male drummer... by giving him his number followed by xoxo. Honestly the song was really catchy (though a little too "white girl" for my taste) but it soon got played out on the radio.
**I liked the song, don't get me wrong, but after a while it got annoying...at least the chorus.
I totally agree 100% ^^^^^^^^^^

Yup that song is good:)
it means call me ? may be?
lol
I actually kind of despise the song, but yet am still trying to write analysis for it. What do you think the significance is of selling her soul? Maybe a sort of social convention on her own freedom, or the looseness of morale in modern society? Purely speculative.
Actually listening to the lyrics closely and looking at the video I think it's just more than a girl giving her number to a guy. At first I thought it was a bout a girl trying to hook up with a guy in a bar or something and giving her number away to a guy but the video shows an prolong interaction between a guy and girl so it's more than the superficial "I think you are hot and I want to hook up with you". There is a little bit of that but to me it sounds like a school girl crush on a guy. She's to embarrassed to actually confront him so she just gives him her number and ends up seeing that he was gay. I really don't understand the point behind that. Maybe it just empowers the idea that it's just a school girl crush and that it doesn't really always end up happily ever after how we always dream about happening. Even the lyrics say it. She has guys following her but she wants this guy who seems to be blind of her. That's my take on it and what the singer and producer try to get their point out. Not sure if it's right.
Wow @RyanL. couldn't have said it better myself. "Sad reality" usually the person your interested in is never interested in u
Good general meanings; I guess I was looking far more into the song than there actually was. Thanks, you guys.
