With reference to biochemical pathways - they conform to certain patterns. And each reaction in the pathway progressively and logically moves toward a single product, which makes it possible (though not always easy) to see overall patterns in synthesis pathways as well.

That's the main problem to me...I am very weak at understanding the patterns of the big chemical reactions(e.g. amino acid degradation pathways)......if i learn multiple pathways,i always get jumbles and confused!!
