How do we convert degrees to rad and rad to degrees?

OpenStudy (turingtest):

\[\pi\text{ radians }=180^{\circ}\]

OpenStudy (waheguru):

Yea But what is the formula ?

OpenStudy (waheguru):

For example convert 3pi/4 rad to degrees

OpenStudy (turingtest):

\[x\text{ rad }\times({180^{\circ}\over\pi\text{ rad }})=y^{\circ}\]

OpenStudy (turingtest):

this works because by the formula I first typed we have that\[({180^{\circ}\over\pi\text{ rad}})=1\]so multiplying a number by that changes nothing to gr from degrees to radians we go the other way and use\[({\pi\text{ rad }\over180^{\circ}})=1\]
