The government shall set no law...blah blah blah....basically yes.

I want to know your own belief, not what the government ought to impose as laws.

In my opinion yes, especially when it comes to offices like police and fireman. If white officers need to score a 90 but black and Hispanic officers only need to score 60. When it comes to someone going to make slit second decisions to save my life, I want someone competent and fit, I don't care what race they are, or that they hired more diverse people.

I believe it is. No one should be entitled to a job. The more qualified applicant should get the job - white, black, man, women, or otherwise. Being "underrepresented" shouldn't make one person more qualified than someone else. How about an education? How about experience?

Due to affirmative action I had the chance to do heavy highway road construction as a flagger controlling traffic. It was a fun and interesting opportunity. The guys, though they still liked their dirty jokes, were mostly respectful...and a few of the younger ones were pretty ripped from working all day and really hot. Without affirmative action I'd of never been hired. Now, while it was fun it was a HUGE responsibility and in most states this job is done by a police officer and not by a teen girl. I was very fortunate that I was quick on my feet and with the radio when people ran through my stop sign. I am smart, but someone with greater knowledge of traffic control may have been better and may have saved lives had an emergency situation happened. I should not of had the job, nor should of anyone because of gender or race. The construction crew and the general public realy deserved someone who was experienced.
