Simplify: 10(m + 3) 10m + 3 10m + 30 m + 3 m + 30

OpenStudy (anonymous):

where did the 10 go?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What do you mean?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if you had to simplify 10(m+3) you first have to distribut the ten like you did at first

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That's a question... lmao.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

10(m + 3) 10*m + 10*3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Which answer? I am so confused/: you guys >.<

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh ok i see then like i said distribute the 10 and you have your answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Simplify: 10(m + 3) A) 10m + 3 B) 10m + 30 C) m + 3 D) m + 30

OpenStudy (anonymous):

10(m + 3) 10*m + 10*3 10m + 30

OpenStudy (anonymous):

understand? its the second one 10m+30

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay. Thankyou. Sorry Telltoamit, I am NOT math smart >.<

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its oki. you're welcome

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Simplify: −(6p + 12) A) 6p – 12 B) 6p + 12 C) –6p + 12 D) –6p − 12

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What about this one^

OpenStudy (anonymous):

distribute the negative understand?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

exactly

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So it's 6p+12?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no when you distribute the negative its basically multiplying -1 and 6 which is what?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-6p+12?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you are not going to understand if you keep guessing answers :/

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im here to help you

OpenStudy (anonymous):

understand

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't understand at all? but there can't be much of a difference...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok when you distribute the negative to the 6p it becomes -6p and when you distribute it to the 12 it becomes -12 so itll be -6p-12 which is d i hope you understand and learn from this :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That's what I said /: you scared me. I think I do. lol. I am not math smart like I said >.<

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok cool im not math smart either im more into english lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

:) wait I thought it was C?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no -1x12=-12

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but that's not an option?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's D?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

remember this rule: a negative and a negative equals a posistive, a possitive and a possitive equals a posssitve, but a negative and a possitive equals a negative

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah is D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you get it?
