This looks like a quadratic equation. Because all of the numbers are multiples of 2, you factor out the two into order to be able to factor out the equation. After you factor out the 2, the equation should look like: 2(x^2+2x-4) If you know how to FOIL, do the reverse with this equation in order to get your values for x.
