It is hard to guide you towards an answer for this one without knowing what you are currently studying. Most fungi use spores for reproducing and in this image it looks like the larger dots may possibly be the spores that will allow continuation of the species. Here is a link: http://staff.jccc.net/pdecell/celldivision/lifecycles.html that contains a very general diagram of the life of a fungus. It may perhaps help you further with this essay.
