A pathogen is really anything that can infect someone and make them sick. This can be a fungus, parasite, virus, or bacteria. In all honesty the possible answers for this short essay are virtually endless. For example the cold virus is a pathogen which can cause headaches, nausea, runny nose, coughing, sneezing, even a low grade fever and some other, less common symptoms. Infection can be prevented through frequent hand washing and overall good sanitation while also being cautious to not spread the disease by covering the mouth when coughing or sneezing and also frequent hand washing. These measures are important because it prevents the virus from being spread from doorknobs or through the air to other people. I hope you find this helpful. Doing a simple google search for pathogens should yield a variety of possible answer other then this. Good Luck!

Gram positive bacteria, treat with a glycopeptide like vancomycin. Fungal infection, treat with amphotericin (apologize after treating). Viral infection, treat with antivirals, (if there aren't any then treat the symptoms. Prion disease, either take some experimental treatment with prion antibodies or close your eyes and count to ten until you die/get better. Parasite, depending on the parasite take some antiparasitics. They are important because they work, if you don't take them you will die and from what I hear, that isn't very fun.
