Slope fields...?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (amistre64):

the slope just point you in a direction; start at the given coordinat and draw a line the connects point to point in the direction of the arrow

Let me try it and you can tell me if I drew it right because I suck at simple things like this... then the other thing is just approximate the y axis as x approaches infinity, right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if so I think I can do that

OpenStudy (amistre64):

this is my attempt :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah something like that... so lim x-> infinity y' = 1/y = infinity? it looks like a log function so

OpenStudy (amistre64):

the field only indicates the top half of the plane, so my guess is this fits well to a y = sqrt(x) function; take a guess at the value a log(x) function would start at 1,0 and would most likely include the negative portion

OpenStudy (amistre64):

but log(x+c) is a good conjecture nonetheless

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay. thank you
