what controversies exist in stem cell research?

Ethical use is probably the biggest. "Playing God" is a popular one but sorta goes with the Ethical use. Future issues such as artificially altered DNA or gene therapy leading to new diseases that can possibly spread and wipe out the human race. Where do you think the idea of Zombies came from?
