convert first the 25 meters to cm

OpenStudy (phi):

I like to use the ratio idea. For example: \[ x \cancel {\text{ meters} }\cdot \frac{ 100 \text { cm }}{1 \cancel{\text{ meter }}}= x\cdot 100 cm \]

OpenStudy (phi):

the idea is put the units over one another so the one you want is on top, and the other is in the bottom and cancels the original unit. to change from cm to inches you want a fraction with inches up top and cm in the bottom \[ x\cdot 100 \text { cm }\cdot\frac{1 \text{ inch}}{2.54 \text{ cm } }\]

OpenStudy (phi):

yes. Try to understand my post. It is very helpful once you know what it means.

OpenStudy (phi):

when doing these problems, always write down the units so you don't get confused. 984.25 inches = 25 meters
