art 1: Explain, in complete sentences, how you would use the graphing method to solve the following system of equations. (3 points) Part 2: Provide the solution to the system. (2 points) Part 3: Explain what the solution represents on the graph. (1 point) 3x – 6y = 12 9x + 2y = –24

OpenStudy (ghazi):

for both the equations consider different values of x (like x=0,1,2) and find respective value of Y then form the pair of points plot it on graph

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i figured out part 2. x = -2 and y = -3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but i still don't get parts 1 and 2

OpenStudy (ghazi):

after you'll have set of points ..you need to plot it on graph paper..this is what your first part asks for and solution will be those set of points where two lines intersect

OpenStudy (anonymous):

solve both equations for y get them in this form y=mx+b m is the slop and b is y-intercept

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the solution represent the point where they intercept

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay

OpenStudy (ghazi):

can you do it now?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm working on part 1

OpenStudy (ghazi):

okay

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You would use the graphing method to solve the system of equations by plotting the equations on a graph

OpenStudy (ghazi):

yes...first plot these two lines on graph and then find the point of intersection to get the solution

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I figured out the rest, thanks!

OpenStudy (ghazi):
