in year 2006, the population was equal to 12.69 mil the yearly growth rate is 1.1% this means that in year 2007, the population will be 12.69+(.011)12.69 =12.69(1+.011)=12.69(1.011)=y1 then 2008 would be y1+y1(.011)= y2 and so on and so forth this can be represented by the equation population= 12.69(1.011)^t where t is number of years that pass
