g(x)=sqrt(x(x-15)) find the domainnnnnnn.... :/

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

I'm guessing what I said last didn't help much?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It usually helps for that one problem, then I try to do it myself and I get completely lost :/ Functions are my weakness...

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

If so, then we can graph x(x-15) to get this (see attached)

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

Notice how the red graph is above the x axis from -infinity to 0 then it dips below the x axis but it comes back up and goes above the x axis from 15 to infinity

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

so this means that the solution to x(x-15) >= 0 is (-inf, 0] U [15, inf)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah (-inf,0]U[15,inf) ?

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

where 'inf' stands for infinity

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

yes you nailed it
