Geometry question! Which of the following rhombi are similar? (picture in comments) Thank you!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

mathslover (mathslover):

1) The sides of a rhombus are same that is : 1st side = 2nd side = 3rd side = 4th side

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think it's EFGH and IJKL?

mathslover (mathslover):

no u can not conclude until they satisfy the conditions " similarity concept " I don't know whether u r right or wrong but it will be right if we go step by step here and conclude the correct answer

OpenStudy (kinggeorge):

For two rhombi to be similar, they have to have the same interior angles. EFGH has angles 50/130, while IJKL has angles 30/150, so these are not similar.

mathslover (mathslover):

right

mathslover (mathslover):

Also they don't have equal sides

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay, let me take another look.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

IJKL and MNOP would be the only two to have the same interior angles

OpenStudy (kinggeorge):

Looks right to me.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay great thanks again! i swear im learning more here then my classroom, go figure!

OpenStudy (kinggeorge):

It happens. Sometimes it just takes a different kind of explanation.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

True, quick question, are we limited to how many questions we post a day?

OpenStudy (kinggeorge):

No. If you start asking several dozen per day though, quite a few people will start to become less inclined to help. However, if you really do try to do the problems before hand, I think you'll be surprised at how little you'll actually need our help.

mathslover (mathslover):

no

mathslover (mathslover):

But we r limited to "1 question at 1 time"

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes I noticed that @mathslover thanks for being so informative guys!

OpenStudy (kinggeorge):

You're welcome.

mathslover (mathslover):

No problem...
