in this problem: log5x(x-1)=2 im not given a visible base # does that automatically make the base 1 0r 10?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

10. Log base 1 doesn't make much sense, because 1^ any power is still 1.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Any finite, real power, anyway...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh ok thanks. would i go about solving for x like this 10^2=5x(x-1) ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yep

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok thanks again
