You are dividing a number that is close to 1 by another number that is smaller than one. When you divide anything by a number smaller than 1, it gets larger. So 7/8 would get larger, so I would say greater than 1.

Alternatively, without dividing you could rewrite the division as (7/8) x (16/11) to get approx 1.27, which is > 1
