Describe the transformation of the graph of f into the graph of g as either a horizontal or vertical stretch. f(x) = sqrt(x) and g(x) = (sqrt 0.5x)

If you have f(x) and you do f(ax) where 0<a<1, it is a horizontal stretch. Think about how this works as it is important. If you halve every x value before square-rooting it, all the y-values will be less. This lower all the y-values for every x-value thus stretching the graph horizontally.
