Is Prok allowed in Christianity?

OpenStudy (hba):

I challenge you that Jesus christ never said that everything is allowed to eat in christanity :)

OpenStudy (hba):

My brother and sister there is a red letter bible in which the words of Jesus christ are written in red, when u will buy this you will see verses written in red Which the christan scholars say are the words of jesus christ

OpenStudy (hba):

The verse which says You are allowed to eat everything was a dream by st jones( book of acts )chp 11 verses 6 -10

OpenStudy (hba):

What does Jesus christ say, Jesus christ says in new testament , gospel of mathew ch 5 verses 17-20 "Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil'For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven"

OpenStudy (hba):

These are verses of ch 5 verses 17-20 of king james version

OpenStudy (hba):

Jesus christ says i have not come to destroy the beliefs of the people i have come here to verify and complete it and if you break anything about the old testamant you will not go to heaven who said this jesus christ said this

OpenStudy (hba):

Saint paul changed things in the bible

OpenStudy (hba):

We have to follow the beliefs of jesus christ not saint paul

OpenStudy (hba):

If you want to become a good christan you dont have to eat pork

OpenStudy (hba):

If you will eat pork you will not go in heaven

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@lgbasallote @ajprincess @Math4Life @mathslover

mathslover (mathslover):

Sorry don't know... I know about " non - veg. are not eaten by BRAHMINS " since i am a brahmin...

mathslover (mathslover):

why is this partiality ... leave my point that may hurt your emotions so sorry can't help u @Yahoo! sorry again

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I was already looking up what prok meant;) Nothing prevents a Christian from eating pork. Jesus abolished many things from the original commandments. This is what I believe in, I respect other religions' point of views.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

My aunt's husband is Arabic and does not eat pork, for him it's خطيئة (sin) Of course we respect his belief as he respects ours...and we all get along.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@hba that is not true. @Yahoo! I couldn't understand what he was saying:/ Maybe you should ask this question to Christians, because despite there being a wide variety of christian religions, I don't believe I've ever heard of pork being haraam for any of them. In Islam it is believed to be harraam, but a muslim cannot "prove" what a christian's belief is. Also: Mark 7:14-23: “Again Jesus called the crowd to him and said, ‘Listen to me, everyone, and understand this. Nothing outside a man can make him unclean by going into him. Rather, it is what comes out of a man that makes him unclean.’

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Just wanted to point out that I wasn't being defensive there^ when I said "a muslim cannot "prove" what a christian's belief is". I was just saying that a Muslim believes strongly in his faith and it'd be difficult for them to explain a christian's faith without bias for their own beleifs.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Peace Are u allowed to consume pork and alcohol in christianity? this is what he bible has to say: Pork in Bible "And the swine, though he divide the hoof, and be cloven footed, yet he cheweth not the cud; he is unclean to you". "Of their flesh shall ye not eat, and their carcass shall ye not touch, they are unclean to you."[Leviticus 11:7-8] "And the swine, because it divideth the hoof, yet cheweth not the cud, it is unclean unto you. Ye shall not eat of their flesh, nor touch their dead carcass." [Deuteronomy 14:8] "Which remain among the graves, and lodge in the monuments, which eat swine's flesh, and broth of abominable things is in their vessels; Which say, Stand by thyself, come not near to me; for I am holier than thou. These are a smoke in my nose, a fire that burneth all the day."

OpenStudy (anonymous):

this is wat i found @jazy

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@jazy http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DuoXbRIy3HA&feature=related

OpenStudy (hba):

jazy you gave me some verse Mark 7:14-23: “Again Jesus called the crowd to him and said, ‘Listen to me, everyone, and understand this. Nothing outside a man can make him unclean by going into him. Rather, it is what comes out of a man that makes him unclean.’ So the answer to this is ............ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gpu3r5U_yX4

OpenStudy (hba):

You have to follow christ not st.peters, You are christans who follow Jesuschrist not petarians who follow st.peters

OpenStudy (hba):

@jazy

OpenStudy (hba):

Even if you break one law or got or a tittle

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Alcohol is not prohibited. The bible only advises to drink with moderation. In John 2: 1-11 you'll see that Jesus himself converted water into wine. @hba i don't understand what you mean?

OpenStudy (hba):

We are talking about pork first

OpenStudy (anonymous):

"And the swine, because it divideth the hoof, yet cheweth not the cud, it is unclean unto you. Ye shall not eat of their flesh, nor touch their dead carcass." [Deuteronomy 14:8]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

In Mark 7:14-23: “Again Jesus called the crowd to him and said, ‘Listen to me, everyone, and understand this. Nothing outside a man can make him unclean by going into him. Rather, it is what comes out of a man that makes him unclean." this was talking about the effects of words that come out of our mouth.

OpenStudy (hba):

gospel of mathew ch 5 verses 17-20 SAYS IT ALL :)

OpenStudy (hba):

You cant say it is wrong

OpenStudy (hba):

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gpu3r5U_yX4 Please watch this @jazy before we discuss any more :) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gpu3r5U_yX4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Yahoo! Jesus abolished some of the commandments made in the first testament. @hba I agree completely with Mathew 5:17-20. I've never said anything was wrong I just didn't understand what meant in one post:)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

**what you meant

OpenStudy (hba):

Its says you cant brake any law which means that it is not allowed to eat pork in the old testament

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Do..u have the Proof...@jazy i mean...the verse iin BIBLE

OpenStudy (hba):

Mathew 5:17-20 Says It All.

OpenStudy (hba):

^^ check this out :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Yahoo! I'm having trouble understanding him...I've gone over the video like 3 times but its confusing me. Not necessarily... If we go word by word on the old testament, then an adulterous person would have to die because of their sin. Jesus died for us, to clean us from the sin that our first fathers transmitted to us. He gave us the opportunity to repent for our sins. Remember that he changed several things in the law... an example would be the holy Saturday, which is not a requisite. *Sorry if I'm not making sense, I have trouble explaining myself in English on these topics.

OpenStudy (hba):

@jazy Are u a christian ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes hba. Pork is not prohibited - that's all I'm saying.

OpenStudy (hba):

@jazy Do you know what the Red letter bible Is ?

OpenStudy (hba):

@jazy It is prohibited :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol....@jazy anyhow...nw it is proved that eating prok is harmful to health

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Pork is regarded as one of the kinds of meat that contain the most cholesterol, an increase of which in the bloodstream leads to an increased likelihood of blocked arteries. The fatty acids in pork are also of an unusual formation, when compared with the fatty acids in other types of food, which makes them more easily absorbed by the body, thus increasing cholesterol levels. Pork meat and pork fat contribute to the spread of cancers of the colon, rectum, prostate and blood. Pork meat and pork fat contribute to obesity and related diseases that are difficult to treat. Eating pork leads to scabies, allergies and stomach ulcers. Eating pork causes lung infections which result from tapeworms, lungworms and microbial infections of the lungs. The doctors have confirmed that the most serious danger of eating pork is that pork contains tapeworms. The growth of its eggs in the human body may lead to insanity and hysteria if they grow in the area of the brain. If they grow in the region of the heart, it may lead to high blood pressure and heart attacks. It may develop in the small intestine and after several months may grow into a large worm whose body is composed of a thousand segments, with a length of 4-10 meters, which lives alone in the intestine of the infected person and part of it may appear when he defecates. When the pig swallows and ingests its eggs, they enter the tissues and muscles in the form of larvae sacs containing fluid and the head of the tapeworm. When a person eats infected pork, the larva turns into a complete worm in the intestine. These worms cause weakness and vitamin B12 deficiency, which leads to a specific type of anemia, which may in turn cause nervous problems. In some cases the larvae may reach the brain, causing convulsions, increased pressure within the brain, epilepsy and even paralysis. Another kind of worm that is to be found in pork is the trichinosis (infestation with a hair-like nematode worm) that cannot be killed by cooking, the growth of which in the body may lead to paralysis and skin rashes. When these parasites reach the small intestine, three to five days later many larvae appear which enter the intestine and reach the blood, from which they reach most of the tissues of the body. The larvae move to the muscles and form cysts there, and the patient suffers intense muscle pains. The disease may develop into infection of the cerebral membrane and brain, and infections of the heart muscle, lungs, kidneys and nerves. It may be a fatal disease in rare cases. It is well known that there are some diseases that are unique to humans and are not shared with any other animals except pigs, such as rheumatism and joint pain.

OpenStudy (hba):

@jazy Do u know what a red letter bible is ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It is not prohibited hba. Are you a Christian? There are a lot of different beliefs even in the "christian" religions. I personally don't believe in Trinity or the cross as they are both a result of humans misunderstanding of god's word. And no hba I don't know what a red letter bible is, though I have heard of it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

*Once again this is my belief.

OpenStudy (hba):

Do u believe in gospel of Mathew 5:17-20 ? Then pork is prohibited

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@jazy ...if it is prohibited..to.. Science tells that prok.. is harmful to health.....wat do u say

OpenStudy (hba):

Go buy a red letter bible ,the christian scholars say the words with the red ink is the words of jesus christ

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Will....a God...Command his followers to eat which is harm to them..))

OpenStudy (hba):

You have to follow Jesus Christ not St.peters :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@hba open up to the rest of the bible, don't get stuck in Mathew 5: 17-20. Look at the context and other bible texts, then talk. Why a red letter bible? Both the old and new testament are vital and important. The new testament includes Jesus' words. @Yahoo! Pork does affect some people, but it doesn't mean its a venom if you eat it every once in a while. A friend of ours(hes christian) does not eat pork because of his health, but he respects others who do. Vegetarians believe any meat is bad for their health and only eat veggies, so if some people believe pork is bad, does that condemn all of use to do the same?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@jazy many ppl knw that Smoking Kills then too they r doing....My question....is that eating pigs is harm to health...and Jesus Banned..it... http://www.draxe.com/why-you-should-avoid-pork/

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Jesus respected gods word in the old testament, and that was what he was pointing out in Mathew. However, he still changed many of the beliefs.

OpenStudy (hba):

@jazy so ur saying Mathew 5: 17-20 is wrong

OpenStudy (hba):

Nauzibillah

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No I'm saying you are wrong in your interpretation of Jesus' words.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Whats Nauzibillah ?

OpenStudy (hba):

I am not wrong interprating what do u interprate from that verses

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Are you Christian?

OpenStudy (hba):

I am a student of comparative religions and converted Muslim

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Then you have no reason to be saying what a christian does or doesn't believe as if you were one.

OpenStudy (hba):

@jazy I know more than you know about ur religion i am here to correct you

OpenStudy (hba):

@jazy You cant say wrong about ur religion and say who are you to say about the religion

OpenStudy (hba):

@jazy There is not a single verse in the bible in which jesus says he is God :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is pork allowed in Christiany? Yes it is allowed in Christianity, not in Islam. As far as if it SHOULD be allowed, I believe it is, others disagree. However Christian religion in general does not ban it. @hba I agree completely: There is not a single verse in the bible in which jesus says he is God :)

OpenStudy (hba):

@jazy Pork is not allowed in christanity

OpenStudy (hba):

What do u interprate from Mathew 5: 17-20

OpenStudy (hba):

Tell me :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Christian religion does not ban pork. Christian religion bans homosexuals yet look how many priests you see running a catholic church nowadays and how gay couples are free to marry in church. I'm not catholic, I'm JW. If YOU believe it should be banned in Christianity then I respect your opinion + faith, yet it isn't.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

**correction, the bible is against homosexuals.

OpenStudy (hba):

Listen @jazy Mathew 5: 17-20 "Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil'For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven"

OpenStudy (hba):

See its written whoever shall break a single law shall not enter heaven

OpenStudy (hba):

So how can u say pork is allowed when it is not allowed

OpenStudy (hba):

Red letter Is the main thing dont go for the black words

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Once again If YOU believe it should be banned in Christianity then I respect your opinion + faith. Heaven & hell are figures of speech. I haven't heard of the Catholic church banning pork, or the Baptists, or JW's...have you?

OpenStudy (hba):

I believe this because it is said by Jesus christ :) Pork is not allowed

OpenStudy (hba):

No one can overrule the saying of Jesus christ not even St.peters , If he saw a dream pork should be allowed that what i am trying to say

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Jesus never said PORK was not allowed in that text. And that is your choice. The question was asking if pork was banned in christian religions, and it is not.

OpenStudy (hba):

Was it allowed before ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Pork has never been banned in the christian religions. I've gtg now. I'll come back to this discussion next time. :) Bye!

OpenStudy (hba):

So you dont believe in Jesus christ ? Or Do u say u will do what other people are doing rather than knowing the truth

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Compassionate

OpenStudy (hba):

A christian should follow the commandments of Jesus christ and not see what other people are doing @jazy

OpenStudy (compassionate):

I don't like Christian debates because I have unpopular opinions.

OpenStudy (hba):

@Compassionate So your not going to talk about it

OpenStudy (compassionate):

I don't want too.

OpenStudy (hba):

@Compassionate So after watching what references i gave it is proved that pork is not allowed in Christianity :)

OpenStudy (compassionate):

I'll give me opinion later.

OpenStudy (compassionate):

Did I really just really type an entire paragraph and it got deleted.
