how do you find the slope of (1/12, 1/8) and (3/7, 9/17)?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

basic slope formula given two points is difference in y-values, divided by difference in x-values. or... for the points (a, c) and (b, d) the slope is (d-c)/(b-a) so for the points you have slope = (9/17 - 1/8) / (3/7 - 1/12) enter into calculator (with parentheses) to get 1155/986
