What is single processing?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm pretty sure it's in contrast to parallel processing, so the natural method of processing. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parallel_computing http://computer.howstuffworks.com/parallel-processing.htm I think there's nothing on single processing because it's the default form, much as there's no info on a normally thrown baseball, but there is on a fastball.
