You should get some practical experience before you make a life decision.  See if there is a local IT tech who you can job shadow.  There are many different facets of IT and some are very specalized.  Telecom involves both hardware and software, databases is software programming, game design can be both on the artistic and programing fields, and cyber security involves lots of different things, hardware, software and networking.

since you are new to computers, you should start first studying the underlying technical aspect of what a computer is, its advantages/disadvantages, and its uses. then decide if you want to specialize on the hardware or on the software side. hardware can be on repairs and maintenance as well as networking. software side can be on programming, systems analysis and design. software engineer or database management.
