(3x+1)+2<11 Help please

OpenStudy (anonymous):

just solve for x if it helps, pretend the < is an equal sign then just replace it at the end although if you ever multiply by -1 to both sides then you have to switch the signs from < to > and vice versa

(3x+1)+2<11 3x+1+2<11 3x+3 < 11 3x +3 -3 < 11-3 3x < 8 x < 8/3 You basically simplify as much as possible. Then you follow PEMDAS in reverse to isolate x
