surface area measures the area of the outside think of the bottom part as a bunch of squares, and the top part as triangles then you just have to find the area of all the squares and triangles each square has sides of length 6 each triangle has base of 6 but unknown height....its NOT 4 4 is the vertical height, you need to find the slant height which is height of triangle face use pythagorean thm.....h^2 = 3^2 + 4^2 hope this helps
