Shortening should be brought to ________ ________ before measuring. Press solid shortenings into a dry measuring cup. Level the shortening with a straightedged spatula and remove it from the cup with a ___________ spatula. For requirements less than ____________ cup, use a measuring cup. ???????????????
What are you making?
This is Food Science, isn't it? 1. We should bring shortening down to room temperature before measuring it. Just let it sit out for a few minutes. 2. After you measure the shortening, you can scoop it back out of the measuring cup with a rubber spatula. (Because rubber spatulas are flexible.) I think your last sentence is a typo. It says, "For requirements less than ________ cup, use a measuring CUP." Did you mean to say "...use a measuring SPOON"? If you need to measure something that's less than 1/4 cup, you would use a measuring spoon. The spoons can measure ingredients less than 1/4 cup.
