Solve for x. Round to the nearest hundredth. sin x ≈ 0.965926 This is a practice problem. It says the answer is 75 degrees, but i don't understand how you get it? Please help.

x=arc sin(0.965926) use ur calculator

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what's x=arc? I got sin(.965926) = .0168577904

OpenStudy (noelgreco):

arcsin and sin^-1 are the same. Have you seen either of those notations?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i've seen sin

OpenStudy (noelgreco):

Well, arcsin and sin^-1 (pronounced "sine inverse", and the "-1" is not an exponent) are simply inverse functions of the sine function. If y = six X then arcsin y = x. "Take the sine of an angle and you get a number (sin 30 = 1/2) Take the arcsin of a number you get an angle (arcsin (1/2) = 30 degrees)" Memorize that! Take your time. Be able to recite it in the dark and cold, even when you're hungry.
