7x+2≤2(2x-4)+3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

? what you want to know???

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is the inequality always, sometimes, or never true

OpenStudy (compassionate):

7x + 2 ≤ 4x - 8 + 3 7x + 2 ≤ 4x - 5 7x - 4x ≤ - 5 - 2 3x ≤ - 7 7 x ≤ (-)-- 3

OpenStudy (compassionate):

x = anything less-than or equal-too negative seven over three.

OpenStudy (compassionate):

@hal_stirrup , I'll return the favor.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

only if you dived by negative number than you reverse the sign!! inequality rule.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Compassionate , thanks. kind of you.

OpenStudy (compassionate):

Only if the 'x' is negative. Example: -3x < -3 = x > 1 On the other hand: 3x < -3 = x < 1, And the other rule: -3x < 3 = x > -1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sure . thats clear.

OpenStudy (compassionate):

:) Glad I could help.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

guys I'm still confused... is the inequality always, sometimes, or never true?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well the statement is somewhat not clear so. but this inequality is true.

OpenStudy (compassionate):

It's sometimes true. Depending on what X is.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

OpenStudy (compassionate):

10 For example, if x = --- , the statement is not true. 1000

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

whats so important to know if the inequality always, sometimes, or never true???

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it's my math h.w lolol

OpenStudy (compassionate):

They can help in real life problems, for example read this: http://www.algebra-class.com/solving-word-problems-in-algebra.html

OpenStudy (compassionate):

I have to go.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

please ask who gave you the question the and let me know why.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Why?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i find it interesting thats all.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

am out.
