Question 4: How did the owl come about? I mean, why not an orange maybe?

myininaya (myininaya):

Always thought that the owl came to be about because they had that one guy named Jon Birdsong. He has that bird word in his name. And then they were thinking probably what is a bird we can do something with. Or you know make up phrases with such as "Owl be back". And that is how the type of bird was chosen. I could be completely wrong in this guess.

What's Jon Birdsong got to do with OS?

myininaya (myininaya):

You can about Jon Birdsong on the about us page of OpenStudy.

You could leave this up so that one of those admin people will answer. You know I wouldn't close it now. The above was always my guess.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

myininaya (myininaya):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i like "owlist" better used to be a jungle-ist

I pretty sure Owlfred goes back to before Jon was around. No one is really sure where he (Owlfred) came from, but one day he appeared in our office and in our hearts. In return for grooming and feeding him, he bestows us with knowledge and power.
