Hi! how exactly does artificial DNA synthesis work? where they put DNA together bit by bit. i've looked around and can't find anything; anyone know?
Check out nature.com it has a huge bank of scientific journals. And also check Craig Venter's work. He successfully created synthetic life recently.
Sorry for my bad English, and i'm new in biochemistry. If i understand the videos. I'm not sure artificial DNA exist. Well, DNA is just a combination of molecules, a "program" to create a other more complex chemical program.
Please don't use the term artificial DNA (seems just like artificial intelligence). The correct word is synthetic DNA. Mean it is artificially synthesized by chemical method, but it is similar in composition to living biological DNA (DNA in living organisms). The synthesis is just similar to DNA synthesis in replication (in the case of chemical bond formation 5' to 3' growth ). Now a days there are machines with cartridges synthesis DNA (oligonucleotide synthesis) up to a limit using computer assisted programs. for very long DNA, it needs joining (ligation) several fragments with the current technology.
thanks for clearing that up! i thought artificial DNA sounded strange...
