5root2-2root5+root18 How do you get from that to 8root2-2root5?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Nevermind, I understood it Thanks Anyways (:

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how did u solve it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well, the root of 18 becomes root 9 *root 2 and since root of 9 becomes 3 and root 2 cannot be simplified it becomes 3root2; then you had 5root2+3root2 since they are common and then it becomes 8root2-2root5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

where did you get the 2 root 5 from?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Its in the question, it cannot be simplified

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ow,i saw it,thank you :)
