Which of the following statements about ecosystems is false? Which of the following statements about ecosystems is false? In the process of energy conversions within an ecosystem, energy is eventually converted to heat. Bacteria and fungi recycle energy within an ecosystem. Plants and other photosynthetic organisms are producers in ecosystems. The "web of relationships" within an ecosystem includes the nonliving components of the environment. Chemical nutrients cycle within an ecosystem's structural web.

I'm pretty sure that the rest makes sense describing an ecosystem, except for this: "In the process of energy conversions within an ecosystem, energy is eventually converted to heat." Could be that, but try not to rely on my information alone.

Based on the principles of thermodynamics: no conversion of energy is 100% efficient, some is always lost to heat. Thus, the A is true. "Bacteria and fungi recycle energy in a system" For the same reason that A is true, this is false. Energy recycling is like a perpetual machine - it's not physically possible. Life needs constant energy input from the sun -without that we'd all die very quickly. The rest are definitions, basically, and are all true.
