A car rents for $23.95 per day, plus $0.10 per mile. You are on a daily budget of $76.00. Within what mileage must you stay to remain within budget?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

we can write the net expenditure E on the car for x miles as\[E=23.95+x\times0.1\]we have also been given the net budget B\[B= 76\]and the condition is that the expense should be within budget, so E has to be less than or equal to B. The case where E = B is when we have used up all the possible miles, so\[23.95+x\times0.1=76\]This is the equation we need to solve for the value of x. Can you proceed with the solution?

I forgot my answer has to be an inequalit :/ Sorry guys

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the inequality is the condition given in the question \[E<=B\]\[23.95+x\times0.10 <=76\]Solve as you would a normal equation;(STEP I) subtract 23.95 from both sides,(STEP II) then divide each side by 0.10, and you have the answer in the form of an inequality.

So if I am correct, the final answer should end up being x<520.5 correct?
