How do you combined like terms? Equation Below: Solve -3 1/2=1/2 x +1/2 x + x. I'm stuck :/

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Combining like terms just means collecting the terms together that are similar, so for example you need to collect all of the numbers together into a single number, and add up how many x's you have in total. Do you understand?

kind of

So for example, if you had x+2x+3x then in total you would have 6x. Just do the same kind of thing for your question, let me know if you're still struggling.

would i put the fractions into decimals? to get it? i dont know to add fractions

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh!! you're just adding the fraction to the amount of x's there are?
